Deaths reported from Tena Carter, Bettie Bienvenu and Sue Brock
March 31st, 2009We just discovered the obituary listings on the site and thought some of our early Tembagapurans may be interested in the following:
Steele Ansley died in New Orleans on January 14, 2005. Steele was in Tembagapura during construction and operations and was a vital force in the lives of early Tembagapurans.
Phil Brock died in New Orleans on March 3, 1992. Phil was a Freeporter in Tembagapura during construction and operations and spent six years there. His family was one of the earliest Freeport families to live in Australia prior to relocating to Tembagapura in 1973. Their youngest daughter, Anne Marie, was the second
expat child born in Tembagapura.
Helen Weaver, wife of Bob Weaver, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Houston. Bob Weaver is a former general manager of Freeport Indonesia. Helen and
Bob lived in Tembagapura in the mid-70’s.
Thanks,
Tena Carter, Bettie Bienvenu and Sue Brock

July 19th, 2008The Lopez Family
October 27th, 2007Hello to everyone from Tembags. We arrived in about January of 1982 and left in May of 1985. I remember with great fondness our good friends such as the Herrs, Crafts, Foulds, Rendons, Carters, the Johnsons, the Steels (sp?) and many others whose name, but not faces, escape me. My father, like many others, worked in the mine, my sisters Tamara and Vanessa and I attended the school where my mother, Twyla, was the General Music teacher. It would be really great to meet with others townmates we knew. For those of you on My Space, I’ve created a new group for the Tembagapura. Feel free to join by going to http://groups.myspace.com/Tembagapura [Jack's links are dead]. In addition, I am there under www.MySpace.com/paraaz [Jack's links are dead]. Love, Jack Lopez-Turner
