Hi all. Just me here saying hi again and wondering what happened to all the people in my class over, you know who you are. Oh well till next time, Later…..
Hello, My name is Mark Carter and i lived in the great town of Tembags from 1985 to the early 90’s. I was so pumped when I saw this website. I was flicking through the Discovery Channel and saw a program on Irian Jaya. I decided to show my roomates “Tembagapura” on the Internet and to the surprise I found this wonderful website. Those were the days! You didn’t have to worry about curfews, you could play jailbreak, climb the big rock, go to the sports center, hang out with your friends, enjoy life because at that time we had nothing to worry about. It is finally great to be able to show my friends the place where i lived and had such great memories of so many people. Thanks, Jason for taking the time to make this website and to all my friends out there that I haven’t spoken to in so many years please email so we can catch up! Very interesting site. Brings back alot of fond memories. I was a visitor there way, way back in 1985. This site helps it seem like yesterday. I noticed that there are no listings for the Hashhouse Harriers. That is one of my fondest memories from there, was the ‘jungle jog’ and of course, my initiation into the Harriers. Never got an opportunity to get a photo of the guest slate at the track. I was there from Nov 85 to Jan 86. Would like to hear if anybody has a copy they can part with. I look forward to getting back there as often as I can now that this site is here. Nice job Jason
Jason, you have done a wonderful job of this website! Thank you for the escape back into Wonderland. I was in Tembagapura between ‘79 and ‘82, the rest of the family even longer. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers dancing to the BeeGees on the patios, putting beetles on the girls butts, the Lupa Lelah Club, dangerous shopping on fresh vegetable days, and the great parties at Ross and Kor’s.
Hello to all you Junglebunnies…this is a fabulous site Jason…thank-you very much for making a part of my dream come true..to once again be able to see a part of my home and to reminisce with old friends. I saw Bart Andrews the other day, my has he ever changed. He’s the one who told me about this web site.I’ve spent hours reading everyone’s memories and looking at old familiar faces and scenes.I remember playing Kick the Can, Jailbreak, and the Math Games.I’ve tried many times to get the kids over here to play but it just didn’t have the same feeling as when the whole town of kids use to play…I’m looking forward to hearing from ya’ll..Does anyone know how to get orders from that Lumpiah Lady???..LOL..Keep in touch everyone…Luv ya..Amole..
It has been a while so I thought I would say HELLO to everyone. Your web site is doing really well. So many people that I do not know and some that I do. It is great to read all the great things that everyone writes about Tembags. To me that is my home away from home (okay and Cairns). I miss that place and the time that I was there. Hope everyone is doing great! Bye!
Due to the low level of interest, there are no plans for a reunion. Yvonne can’t do it alone. July 2002
What a great site! I lived in Tembagapura on and off for 4 years (1991-1995). My husband, Terry, worked for a contractor (Ram Raising). I thought I’d do some research on Tembagapura since I will be moving there in 3 weeks with my husband and 3 sons(Sam 7, Adam 5, and Jay 3)This site sure peaked my kids interest. With the entries I’ve read I’m sure they’ll have a great childhood living in Tembagapura and going to I.S.S.T. Jane Chenier
Jason, I enjoy your new website. It works really great. Keep up the good work!
